MEET AUN’YIEA BS, MPH
Founder & Clinical Herbalist
Herbal Rootz exists because I saw a gap in how black and brown communities are taught to understand their health. Too often, we are only shown how to manage symptoms, not how to understand what’s happening in the body underneath them. I come from a background in pharmacy, a Master’s in Public Health and training in clinical herbalism. I’ve spent years studying the patterns behind chronic disease in our communities, and what I realized is that real healing requires more than treatment—it requires understanding, education, and access. That realization led me deeper into herbal medicine and holistic wellness.
My focus is helping individuals recognize that chronic conditions are often connected to deeper imbalances, and that they can play an active role in their own health when given the right tools and education.
My work centers on helping people develop body literacy: understanding what their bodies are communicating, recognizing patterns, exploring root causes, and learning how lifestyle and herbal medicine can support whole body wellness.
I believe that symptoms are messages, not inconveniences to be silenced.
My clinical philosophy is rooted in the belief that true wellness extends beyond symptom management. The body is interconnected, and lasting change often begins with understanding the underlying patterns contributing to imbalance.
My goal is not simply to recommend herbs. My goal is to help people develop the knowledge and confidence to understand their bodies, participate actively in their own healing journey, and build sustainable practices that support vitality for years to come.
“My formulas are designed with the underlying body systems in mind rather than simply providing temporary relief.”
